The Galta Monkey Temple is situated on a cliff, on the outskirt of Jaipur city popularly known as the Pink City. The Monkey temple complex enshrines a number of old temples and water tanks where one finds devotees enjoying a holy dip, a look around and one also finds them doing prayers, meditation and feeding the monkeys. It’s interesting to know that the shrine which is an abode to hundreds of monkeys is not the primary site for the worship of Lord Hanuman - the 'Monkey God,' but is primarily known for the 'Sun God' - Lord Surya whose temple is situated further up the hill.
