Chanting of the following Shani Mantra 9 times by Shri Ashwinkumar Pathak :

II Neelanjanan samabhasan, raviputram yamagrajam; Chaaya martand sanbhutan, tan namami, shaneshwaram II

The English translation of this mantra means :

"Who is like blue-Sapphire in color, Son of God Sun or Planet Sun, Shani-Who is devoted to justice like Death God Yamah ( it comes to all at right time shani gives justice at right time ) who moves like cripple in his own shadow we respect you Shani with folded hands."

* That translation is not quite correct if you can read the script in the video. Sanskrit is a very accurate language, a slight misinterpretation of letters changes the entire meaning of words, possibly the mantra.

* yes, faith is very important in chanting the mantras, but pronunciation is just as important. each sound holds a specific kind of energy and when you change the vibration of one sound you can change the effect of the entire mantra.
there is even a story [i believe it is from shiva purana?] that tells of lord shiva cutting off brahma's head for chanting a prayer to him incorrectly

* wow, i knew "Shani (Sanskrit Śani शनि) is one of the Navagraha which are the nine primary celestial beings in Hindu astrology (that is, Vedic astrology)" according to wikipedia. i just typed my name in, which is Shani believe it or not, out of curiosity and boredom and there it was. i also googled my name and i see this mantra. very cool. i always thought Shani was an african/egyptian name but now its related to hinduism too? that is very cool indeed. :)
