The Temple of Maa (Mother) Kaali is well known all around the world. It was the deep devotion and fire of love of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsha towards the Mother Divine that happened here. These are the sacred grounds where Sri Ramakrihsna observed spiritual practices and His deep and intense love for Mother Kali, made it possible for him to feel Her divinity and He talked with her.
The temple is located on the Eastern banks of the Ganges about 4 miles North of Kolkata. The video clip shows the steps leading to the sacred river that Sri Ramakrishna used to trod on. The chandni (roofed terrace), on either side, ranged in a row are Temples of Shiva.
To the east are the courtyard and the temple of Radhakanta Temple. It was this temple that Sri Ramakrishna Parahamasha served as the priest in the beginning, in the year 1857 A.D.
Then the video clip shows the main Kali Temple, where the Sri Ramakrishna experienced , ecstatic divine love. The image or idol of Kali Mother, dressed in gorgeous gold, standing on the white golden image of the prostrate body of Shiva, her divine consort.
She has three eyes. On the feet of the Goddess are ornaments of Gold. Her arms are decked with jeweled ornaments of gold. She wears necklaces of gold and pearl. A golden garland of human hands and a golden gird of human arms. She has on Her head a golden crown. Her ears adorned with golden earrings and her nose wears a golden nose ring, with a pearl.
In her left hand, she holds a human head. With Her right hand she offers blessings and reassurance.
The video clip also shows Nat Mandir (Temple) or music hall. Here resides idols of Shiva and His two companions. Before entering the Temple Thakur (Sri Ramakrishna), used to offer his pranams (Obeisance) here. The vido clip also shows image of Govindu or Lord Krishna in Radhakanta Temple. Thakur (Sri Ramakrishna) had mended this image with his own hands when it was damaged.
The Kali Temple and the names of other places shown in this video clip are mentioned frequently in Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. The above video Purusha Suktam is a visual treat dedicated to lord Vishnu. The Purusha Sooktam is one of the Pancha Suktams of the Sri Vaishnava sampradaya. The other four are the Narayana Suktam, Sri Suktam, Bhu Suktam, and the Nila Suktam.

Earlier post was about Meditation and Relaxation. We now proceed on How to do Meditation and Meditation Technique.

How to meditate

Meditation is the greatest and the most beautiful experience one can experience in this earth frequency. The above video will guide you to reach the Meditative State and enjoy the journey from Body-Mind Consciousness to Self Consciousness.

For meditation the first thing is the Posture. You may sit in any posture. The posture must be very comfortable and stable. We can meditate either on the floor or on a chair. We can meditate in any place wherever we feel comfortable. Sit comfortably cross your legs, clasp the fingers now close your eyes gently. Stop inner or outer chatter, don’t chant any mantra . Just relax … totally relax, just relax. When we cross our legs and clasp our fingers energy circuit is formed and gives more stability. Eyes are doors of the mind so eyes should be closed. Mantra chanting or any chattering inner or outer are the activities of the mind so it should be stopped. When body relaxes consciousness travels to the next zone mind and intellect. Mind is nothing but a bundle of thoughts. There are numerous thoughts always coming to the surface of the mind. Whenever there are thoughts in the mind we may get many questions known or unknown. To transcend the mind and intellect one has to observe the breath. Observation is the nature of the self so one should just witness the breath. Don’t do conscious breathing. Don’t inhale or exhale consciously. Let inhalation or exhalation happen on its own. Just observe the normal breathing. This is the main key, this is the way. Don’t go behind the thoughts, don’t think to quires, questions or thoughts. Cut the thought, come back to the breath. Observe the normal breathing, be with your breath. Then the density of the thoughts reduces slowly breath becomes thinner and shorter. Finally breath becomes smallest and settles like a flash in-between the eyebrows. In this state one will have no breath and no thought he will be totally thoughtless. This state is called Nirmalsthithi or no thought state. This is the meditative state. In this state we will be under the shower of cosmic energy. The more meditation one dose the more will be the cosmic energy one receives. This cosmic energy flows through the energy body. It is also called the etheric body.

* nope, not at all, your suppose to be not concious of breathing through the whole thing, only concious of the breath. it works like this, when your brain focuses, it needs more oxygen so it demands faster breathing. so your body would take quick short breaths until it was nothing, and then you would get into a high level of focus type of state. I try to do this meditation whenever i can in school. heightens awareness and throws away stress. so i can focus on my work.

This video is a real treat with the miracle picture of Krishna filmed by Sacisuta dasa. Sacisuta dasa relates his personal experience regarding this miraculous picture, he says :

In 1994 while I was a Pujari in the Issaquah Temple, I had this picture of Govinda on the wall of my mobile trailer. At the same time in many locations around the world milk was appearing from various deities especially in the form of Ganesh. Milk appeared at the base of the floor where this picture hung. At least six times I cleaned milk up from the base of this picture. It got to the point where I chastised Krishna in this picture form and told Him I was tired of cleaning the milk on the floor. After that no more milk appeared.

A Digambar Jain monk sings the Namokar Mantra also known as the Navkar Mantra. In Jainism the Namokar Mantra is the most important and sacred mantra. While reciting this holy mantra we are paying our homage by bowing down to the :

Arihantas, Siddhas, Acharya(heads of sadhus and sadhvis),
Upadhyaya (those who teach scriptures to sadhus and sadhvis),
Sadhus (monks, who have voluntarily given up social, economical and family relationships) and
Sadhvis (nuns, who have voluntarily given up social, economical and family relationships).

Collectively, they are called Panch Parmesthi (five supreme spiritual people). In this mantra we worship their virtues rather than worshipping any one particular person or Tirthankar. This mantra is also called Namaskar Mantra as we are bowing down.

“You Alone Exist” is a video directed by Peter Nordeen, the music is composed by Jm Meyer . You Alone Exist” is a prayer by Meher Baba and Bhau Kalchuri. In 1959, Meher Baba dictated the first couplet of “You Alone Exist” to his close disciple and night watchman, Bhau Kalchuri. By baba’s instruction bhau added eleven additional couplets. Baba finished the prayer 3 years later, sitting on his bed and druming on his thigh with his fist in rhythm to the lines he himself was composing over an hour.

When bhau questioned some of the more unusual descriptions of God in the prayer, Meher Baba gestured, “Do not change a single word! The prayer is from me…. It is all right! Motu Maie Gosain Haidiakhandi takes us on a photographic ride, in the above video regarding Haidakhan Babaji’s recent physical manifestation between 1970 to 1984. During this period he is said to have lived in the foothills of the Kumaon Mount Kailash in a remote village called Haidakhan.

Ranakpur situated around 60 km north of Udaipur, is one of the most revered Jain pilgrims as it the home to one of the largest and most important Jain Temples in the country. The temple has a vast basement of 4,500 square yards which covers the whole complex. There are four subsidiary shrines, twenty four pillared halls and eight domes supported by over four hundred columns. It’s amazing to know that the temple has a total number of 1,444 intricately carved columns and no two columns are alike. The main temple is a Chaumukh or a four-faced temple dedicated to the trithankara Rishabdeoji or popularly known as Shri Adinathji.

This shrine is of great significance to the Jain community as it is regarded as one of the five most important pilgrimage sites of Jainism. This exceptionally beautiful Jain temple complex is set in a remote valley in the Aravali range. The legends states that these temples were built in the fifteenth century during the rule of the liberal and munificent Rajput Monarch Rana Kumbha and also that when Akbar the mogul emperor visited this temple he was taken aback seeing the creativity and beauty of this unimaginable artistic work and was so full of admiration that he had made an inscription on one of the columns, saying that no one ever will be allowed to destroy this jewel of architecture.

The Bhumiadhar Hanuman Temple - This very small shrine that is located on the roadside on the way to Nanital and kainchi. It is just a few kilometeres South-West of Bhowali in the Kumoun, Uttarakhand.

The Kakrighat Hanuman Temple – is located on the Almora - Bhowali Road, 30K north of Bhowali Road on the Kosi River next to Khakrighat Village, Uttarakhand.

The Kainchi Ashram Temple - Kainchi is a remote ashram that is only open about half of the year, located near Nanital in the Kumoan Mountains,. It is 7K north of Bhowali on the Almora Road in Nanital District, Kumoun area, Uttarakhand.

He knew about the secret society. Look at the second sentence, "they" refers to the "secret society" that used Hitler and the German people. As well "they" used other countries (neighbor).
You can figure out the 2nd sentence. HINT: Who was Kukulcan of Chichén Itzá? What did he look like and where did he come from?

I personally don't know if his predictions are true, or not, but I found some of the responses from Penn and Teller were quite condescending. If Nostradamus was indeed a prophet that doesn't mean he knew all the details, or/and perhaps, he wasn't meant to know them since maybe his writings are the shadows of the inevitable and are not meant to be understood or prevented.

A very well choreographed dance, what is amazing and at the same time saddening is the the information given by the one who uploaded the video on the you tube. The information of the performers being deaf. How much effort they must have to put for this show, and the watcher of the show enjoys this with the music.

The following video is an excerpt from the film“When Merwan Grew Up” by Robert Fredericks and the Meher English School, Meherabad, India. An endearing narration for children to acquaint them with the life of Meher Baba one of the great masters that India ever had.

An interesting video that depicts the life of Meher Baba a spiritual seeker in quest for a mentor (spiritual master) who would guide him with his higher state of enlightment and help him come down to the normal state of consciousness. His search takes him on a spiritual journey where he comes across enlightened spiritual masters like Narayan Baba of Khedgaon, Tazzudin Baba of Nagpur, Sai Baba of Shirdi and Upasni Maharaj of Sakori. Each of these masters gave him some thing that he lacked to help him with his higher state and bring down his exalted state of consciousness to the normal state. Once normal Meherwan commenced his life’s work of being an Avtar – the one who helps and guides people to understand and love god. He started inviting people around him who wanted to know more about God. People now sensed this special ability of Meherwan and started flocking around him to hear him talk about God. This was Meherwan’s forte as he was now one with God and also as his work was to help others know God.

Meherwan worked in various places like Mumbai, Pune, Ahmednagar and Meherabad. One day while working with his group Meherwan was christened with a new special name “Meher Baba” as it was felt that Meherwan was too common a name for an enlighten soul like him who knew so much about god. Since then Meherwan is known as Meher Baba meaning the compassionate father. On 10^th July 1955 Meher Baba decided to stop talking for reasons best known to him, but then he was also in a dilemma as how to converse with people about God. That’s when he came up with a solution by getting an alphabet board so that he could spell out his words on it and convey whatever he wanted to say. This way he could maintain his silence and convey whatever he wanted to say.

Saptashringa Garh is a significant pious pilgrim of Devi as it enshrines the renowned Shree Saptshrungi Devi temple, which is considered as one of the 4 shakti peeths of Devi in Maharashtra. It is also one of the 51 shakti peeth of India.

The Devi is carved on a single rock face holding a weapon in each of her eighteen arms at an altitude and hence can be viewed from a distance. The carving is 8 feet tall. Shree Saptshrungi Devi encompasses her name from her abode the legendary seven peaked Saptashringa Mountain, a habitat to a variety of medicinal trees. Legend states that it was from this very hill that Hanuman carried the sanjeevani – the herbal medicine for the wounded Laxmana. The hill also conserves 108 water reservoirs traditionally known as the Kundas.

Vani Devi, Durga Devi, Goddess Bhagawati and Goddess of Khandesh are few names to be reckoned with Shree Saptshrungi Devi. Devi is also known as Mahishasur Mardini as she slayed the demon Mahishasur who was creating nuisance for Rishi Markendaya. To eradicate him the sage prepared a holy fire out of which the goddess emerged with eighteen arms clasping different weapons and eliminated the demon. As a tribute to the Devi Rishi Markandeya composed the Devi Mahatmaya or Durga Saptashati after doing penance on the top of a peak, which face the cliff that enshrines the temple.

Vani Devi finds her reference in the holy book Shri Sai Satcharita. Many propitiate her as their Kuldevi. The shrine is located at Vani a place around 55 – 60 kms away from Nasik and is well connected with state transport buses. At the base of the Saptashringa Garh is Nanduri village. There is a zig-zag road to the temple which goes up to 11kms till it reaches the top and from here one takes a flight of 470 stairs leading right up to the shrine.

Dose a soul chose its own Parents?

Have you ever pondered upon the thought whether if the soul has the choice to choose its own parents before its birth? Well if you are still ambiguous about this hypothesis then the following video will help you to unravel this mystery.

Pandharpur – The Vaikunth of Lord Vithoba

Pandharpur the sacred abode of Lord Vithoba is revered as the Vaikunth of Lord Vithoba. It is also famous as the “Dakshin Kashi” of India and is situated on the banks of the divine river Bhimarati which is also pertinently credited as Chandrabhaga, owing to the anecdote behind it. Rakhumai or Rukmini is the consort of Shri Vitthal and Bhakt Pundalik was an ardent devotee of Shri Krishna. Due to his close association with this shrine, Pandharpur is also know as Pundarika pura.

It is believed that this magnificent shrine dates back to the Yadav dynasty and was known to be a miniature then. It is assumed that in the 13^th century with the wide spread of the Vitthala bhakti that the temple boundaries must have expanded. This ancient sanctuary covers a vast area and has a total of six gates. Saint Namdev was closely associated with this shrine and in his honor the eastern entrance to this temple is named as the Namdev gate. The entrance to the main temple is from the Namdeo-Payri.

Many noted saints like Namdev, Tukaram, Dnyaneshwar have written and sung the praises of the Lord Vitthal. Millions of Varkaris from all over Maharashtra walk bare foot to Pandhrpur dancing and chanting to the tunes of devotional songs to celebrate “Ashadhi Ekadashi and Kartiki Ekadashi” twice every year. One finds devotees flocking to this temple on Wednesdays and Ekadashis of every month as they are considered to be auspicious. Apart from Ashadhi and Kartitki Ekadashis, Magh and Chaitra Ekadashis are too celebrated with pomp and fare.

At 4.00 early in the morning the Kakad Aarti is performed. In a tranquil atmosphere one can hear the sweet melody of the instruments Choughada and Sanai playing.

The gates of the temple are opened for the gathered devotees. The priest then chants the mantras aloud to awake the Lord from his slumber.

After this prayer the priest washes the face of the Lord with water. The silver lamp with puree ghee is lit and along with the aarti and naivedya is offered to the deity. After singing a few aartis the priest then chants the Mantrpushpanjali. Then the deity is then all geared up for a bath, wherein the previous offerings of garlands and flowers are removed from the deity followed by padasanan which is done with milk and undressing the deity.

On completion of Ganpati, Kalash, Bell, Conch and Earth pooja, the Mahapooja is performed. The bathing rites are duly performed in the subsequent sequence, the deity is first bathed with hot water followed by curds, milk and panchamrit (milk, curd, ghee, honey, sugar) bath. In between butter-sugar with Tulsi leaves is offered to the deity and aarti is performed. After this honey and sugar is applied on the body of the deity and once again a hot-water bath is given.

Poorushsukta and other Vedic Mantras are chanted while making an offering of water and other things to the deity. After a luxurious bath, the Lord is dressed up in beautiful finery. Chandan, Kasturi tilak are applied to the forehead of the deity. After bedecking the deity with beautiful ornaments the mirror is shown to the Lord. Then dhoop, lamp and naivedya are offered. The priest then blesses all the devotees by sprinkling the auspicious holy water on them with which the Lord was bathed. Then again the aarti and Mantrapushpanjali are performed.

In this way each morning with complete dedication the Vithhal Pooja is duly performed in a very devotional way. The Darshan of the Lord at Mahapooja is incredibly pleasant and appealing which cannot be expressed in words but has to experienced by oneself.

Titwala Maha Ganesh Mandir

Titwala is a small bustling town in Thane district that houses the legendary Maha Ganesha temple. Titwala is known as a holy centre for its renowned Maha Ganesha and Shri Vithal - Rakumai temple. According to the legend, following a prolonged period of disagreement, it was here in this very place that King Dushyant married Devi Shakuntala after sincerely propitiating the Maha Ganesha idol which was consecrated by sage Kanva.

It so happened that after a period of time this ancient sacred idol vanished with out a trace. It was only later in the 18^th century when the Peshwa of that time was constructing a lake, the idol was retrieved while excavating. The Peshwa then consecrated the idol and reinstated the temple on the bank of the lake.

With passing time this temple has gained prominence as the temple deity is renowned to bless couples with happy marital bliss by settling marital conflicts between them provided the deity is propitiated sincerely and with strict religious observance. When worshiped regularly the Maha Ganesha is known to bless one’s heart’s content by fixing their marriage with the desired person of their choice.

A little away from the Maha Ganesh temple is the Shri Vithal - Rakumai temple. The fascinating thing about this temple is that one can be present in this temple and hear the holy ongoing bhajans that are sung in the temple of Pandharpur which is more than 100miles away, by placing one’s ear against the iron tube which is connected to a “Gaumukh” (sculpted cow head) constructed within the sanctum of this temple.

Sankashtis, Ganesh Chaturthi, Maghi Chaturthi and Tuesdays are the endearing days to Lord Ganesha, hence on these days one will find devotees flocking in numbers to pay their homage to their favorite holy deity.

One can also visit the temple of Sri Gajanan Maharaj of Shegaon on the way to the Maha Ganesha temple. You can enjoy a Tonga ride to the shrine or opt for a shared auto instead. There are many devotees who choose to walk a good 3 Km from the railway station to offer their respects to the shrine. Titwala is well connected to Mumbai via local trains. It is the third station on Kalyan to Igatpuri route.

The Ancient Shrine of the Sacred Rats

The Karni Mata Temple is situated on the holy land of Deshnok in Rajasthan, India. The marvel of this temple is that it is the home to thousands of harmless rats commonly known as Kabas - the children of the goddess that keep scampering and crawling around. Hence it is also known as the Ancient Shrine of the Sacred Rats.

There is a very interesting tale behind the history of this temple. As per the folklore the human beings who die are reincarnated as rats and the rats that die are reincarnated as human beings. Centuries ago Mata Karni devi had blessed her tribe with a divine boon that upon death they would reincarnate as rats before being reborn as humans. Hence these rats are considered to be sacred and are believed to be the reincarnation of the descendants of the deity.

It is believed that some 600 yrs ago goddess Karniji and her four sons worshiped in this marble sanctuary which was free of rats at that time. Her sons would take turns to taking care of the shrine for 30 days at a time. Even today her male descanted continue this tradition. They serve as priest and must spend a month of tending to their reincarnated relatives called Kabas. Devotees say that if you touch any one of these sacred Kabas you are blessed for life and it is considered good luck if you see a white rat.

It is these divine white rats that are believed to be the reincarnation of the goddess’s four sons. Visitors take utmost care of not hurting these rats by stepping over them but if anyone kills them by accidentally stepping over them then they have to replace the same with its weight in silver.

It is an astonishing fact that till date this vermin infected shrine is free from any kind of rat related disease. The rats found here are much cleaner than the ones found at home. In fact even the offerings of food is first offered to the Kabas and then distributed as prasad to the devotees. These Kabas lead a very secure life within the shrine and that’s why it seems that they never want to leave. Hence the rats within the temple don’t go out and the rats outside the temple don’t come in.

Its interesting to know that after a day at the temple even the most petrified visitors walk away with a new respect for the vermins.

Since ancient times water is considered to be holy and sacred, but with growing civilization it has lost its purity. We cannot deny the importance of water in our lives. It is a very unique entity by itself as it is considered the nectar of life. Water is the very essence of all life forms on this earth, without it any kind of life form would be extinct on this planet.

The planet earth and the human body is a composite of more than 75% of water. Hence it is important that the water we consume is of the highest quality for the vitality important to all life forms.

It is a known fact that since time immemorial all life forms react to human vibrational energy, thoughts, ideas, words and music. A very good example of this is that of plants, we have seen how plants respond to music or beautiful spoken words.

It has been observed that water in its different forms either be in solid, liquid or gaseous state has a healing effect. When running high temperature frozen ice cubes help bring down the fever, daily good consumption of water detoxifies one’s body and steam inhaled relaxes the nervous system.

Have you ever pondered upon the thought as to why do unsolicited or solicited things happen to you in your life. “The association with the gross forms is termed birth & the disassociation from the gross forms is termed death. However there is no death. The consciousness of the soul retains & experiences the impressions of the dropped or the disassociated human form through it subtle & mental bodies. The state of the soul in the apparent gap between death & birth is generally called hell or heaven. These are states of intensive experiences of the impression of events gathered from the lifetime just terminated. The soul itself doesn’t actually go to a place called heaven or hell as is the general belief because the soul is eternally infinite & internally within the Over-soul . If the predominate impressions are virtue or goodness then the soul is said to be in heaven, if the predominate impressions are vice & evil then the soul is said to be in hell. It is the consciousness of the soul which experiences the impressions & these impressions are retained by the subtle & mental bodies. Although the soul frequently & consciously disassociates itself from the finite gross forms it never disassociates itself from its finite subtle form & its finite mental form. Meditation means 'a termination of the thought process'. The essence of meditation is to mute our thoughts by completely focusing the mind on just one thing. It is an active process which seeks to exclude outside thoughts by concentrating all mental faculties on the subject of meditation.

The idea of Meditation is to focus our thoughts on one relaxing thing for a sustained period of time. By doing this we are resting our mind by diverting it from thinking about the issues that are causing stress. Meditation helps our body to relax, recuperate and energize. It helps to detoxify the toxins that may have built up through mental or physical stress or activity. It relaxes the muscles, reduces blood pressure, slows breathing, gives the body time to eliminate lactic acid and other waste products, It reduces irritability, stress headaches, insomnia, anxiety and also eliminates stressful thoughts instead one gains clarity of thoughts, it also improves ones focus and concentration abilities. It helps one to enjoy sound sleep & good health.

To conclude would say that Meditation not only helps us to relax, enjoy vibrant health, sound sleep and be stress free but it also helps us to enhance our persona by becoming a more positive & confident person. The end result is peace, serenity, calmness, eventually opening ourselves to new insights.

Soft music is perfect to use. Try one of the many new age cds available out there which enable you to focus on the usic and not your thoughts. The one I come back to time and time again is entitled 'Temple in the Forest' by David Naegele. A few years old now, but excelent nevertheless.

Let me start by saying I am not under the influence of anything(right now...I seen a beautiful bird, a cat, an angle whose heart was lifting to heaven, a praying mantis, an alien, I could go on & on...if this is the effect the producers of this vid were after, well, it worked on me. Beautiful.
